Houston Fest 2012
HoustonFest 2012 is scheduled for May 4&5, 2012 at Felts Park in Galax, Virginia. Bands including Blue Highway, Sierra Hull & Highway 101, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, and the VW Boys will be performing. Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder will Headline at HoustonFest 2012
. Ongoing Bluegrass and Old-Time music will grace the 3 stages. Showcases will be hosted by Mr. Jon Lohman and Camp Houston will be in full swing. Regional luthiers will demonstrate their craft.
A very special feature of HoustonFest 2012 will be a live auction featuring handmade instruments. Bidders will have the opportunity to buy a Wayne Henderson Guitar, Jimmy Edmonds Fiddle, Anderson – Strickland Mandolin, and a Steve Huber Heritage Banjo. The auction will be conducted by Mr. Ken Farmer who is a noted auctioneer and appears on PBS Antique Roadshow. There will also be a silent auction featuring many items that spectators and participants will want to bid on.
